Houston Chapter

The Mars Society - Houston is being established to create public support for building sustainable space colonies on the Moon & Mars.

Proposed Actives:

• Contract for Mars Analog locations along Gulf Coast of Texas.
• Media Source for Mars Society Activities Worldwide
• Organize and Sponsor Space Conventions in Houston Area
• Space Educational Programs for Local Schools and Universities

Contract for Mars Analog locations along Gulf Coast of Texas.

Proposed MSC Analogs - Texas Caves (Habitat)

Texas Analogs for Mars - developing a space colony on Mars requires advanced training on areas on construction, operations and areas of special expertise. Mars Space Construction, LLC wants to develop Analog Training Programs for colonists going to Mars. The Analogs will be a close representation of the Habitat on Mars and crews participating in them will get long term endurance training in the activities required to survive on Mars. Location for Analogs would be in caves or lava tubes located in Texas. Long Term Habitat Simulation (Caves).

Crew Leadership and most crew positions will be similar to that of that on a military submarine. The long term of isolation, closeness of quarters, work routine, meals, and sleeping will be similar to that of life on a submarine or military vessel. Training programs for Mars should follow that of military submarine training.

Training for Mars Missions should cover everything required to live on Mars but also cover construction and on-going maintenance of the colony as it grows. Long duration Analogs are one way to ensure the safe and successful construction of a self-sustaining colony on Mars. College Classes - campus and online.

Promote Mars Activities Worldwide by being a media outlet for activities.

Gather Mars Society Projects & Activities around the world.

Texas society locations - San Antonio, Dallas, Houston

Bring Space Conventions to Houston area.

Bring together of space companies, space enthusiast and activist to the Houston area with local space conventions.

Create Space Educational Programs with Local Schools and Universities.
